Lemon Lip Balm

Instead of going to the market and buying an expensive lip balm, why not try make one yourself at home? And it take only 5 minutes!

You will need:

  • 1 tbsp beeswax
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3-5 drops of lemon extract
  • A lip balm container
  • A heat safe container
  • A saucepan
Note:
  • Beeswax and coconut oil can be substituted with 1 1/2 tbsp of vaseline. I'm using beeswax so that it holds its shape.
  • You can also include 1 tsp of honey in the recipe for a honey lemon lip balm.

Method:

1. Take the saucepan and fill it with water. Bring it over to the stove and heat till the water boils.

2. Add the beeswax and coconut oil (and honey) to the container and place in the saucepan. Keep stirring until it melts.

3. Remove from heat and add the lemon extract.

4. Dip the tip of a metal spoon in the lip balm and let it solidify. Apply on your lip and check its consistency. If its too oily add more beeswax and if its too hard or dry, add coconut oil.

5. Finally, pour it into your container. Be careful as the mixture is super hot!

6. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes or place in the fridge for 15 minutes until it solidifies!

Store the lip balm in a cool and dry place.

Smells soooo good!
